Our verdict
Gamma's credit system is one of the fairer ones we have read: paid credits roll over up to twice your monthly amount, and bought credits survive a year after you cancel. The catch is everywhere else. Individual accounts train Gamma's models until you switch it off, refunds close after three days, and the terms still ask for cancellation 30 days before renewal. Turn off training in Data Controls and decide within 72 hours whether you are keeping it.
Good fit if you…
- People who build many quick decks and want unused credits to carry over
- Teams that need training excluded automatically (Business and Enterprise)
- Users happy to try the free tier before paying
Skip it if you…
- You need USD list prices before you can approve a purchase
- You want a refund window longer than three days
- You will forget to change the default training setting on a personal plan
The fine print, graded
Five questions, graded A (best for you) to E from Gamma Tech, Inc.'s own pages. How grades work.
Pricing clarity · Are prices public and free of traps?
The pricing page can show local currency outside the US, and the version we read listed euros for every individual plan, with 'Prices are subject to tax depending on your location'. We found no published USD list for Plus, Pro or Ultra. The one dollar figure in Gamma's own documents is in the help center, which prices Business at '$40 per member per month, billed annually'. Every paid plan is per seat, so each added member is billed at the plan rate, and Business is annual only. The page says annual billing saves 'up to 25%' while a help article says 28%.
SourceCancel & refunds · Can you leave, and get money back?
Refunds are available 'only within the first 3 days of subscribing', on monthly or annual plans, and only if you contact support and have used fewer credits than a plan threshold: 300 on Plus, 600 on Pro, 900 on Team, 1,000 on Business and 2,000 on Ultra. Cancelling within three days does not trigger a refund automatically. After that, nothing is refunded except where the law requires. The terms (effective September 9, 2025) also say fees are non-refundable, rule out prorated refunds, and ask you to cancel at least 30 days before the renewal date.
SourceLimits & credits · What is capped, and do credits expire?
Paid plans refresh credits monthly, and unused credits roll over up to double the plan size (Plus can hold 3,000). Annual plans drip credits monthly rather than up front. Credits you buy separately remain for one year after you cancel. The free plan's 400 starting credits never refresh; you can hold up to 2,000 and earn 200 per referral. When a paid plan ends you drop to Free and plan credits reset to 400.
SourceYour data · Is your content used to train models?
On individual plans (Free, Plus, Pro, Ultra) the default is 'Data is allowed to be used to train AI models'. You can opt out any time under Settings, Data Controls. Business and Enterprise workspaces are excluded automatically and the setting is locked. The terms grant Gamma a perpetual, irrevocable license to use your content for training whenever those privacy controls are not switched on.
SourceOutput rights · Can you use what you make commercially?
The terms say 'Gamma does not claim ownership of Your Content', and the license you grant is for operating the service, subject to your account settings. They do not say in so many words who owns AI-generated 'Results', which are provided 'as is' and described as initial drafts. Free-plan output carries Gamma branding; removing it is a Plus feature.

User reviews · What do paying users report?
App users rate it highly (4.8 from 1,119 App Store ratings, 4.7 from 38,620 on Google Play, 4.5 from 78 Product Hunt reviews), but Trustpilot is very harsh at 1.6 from 129 reviews, three quarters of them one-star. The most repeated complaints are surprise renewals with tight refund windows, and AI that ignores instructions or produces poor visuals. The most repeated praise is speed: a usable deck from a prompt in minutes, on desktop or phone.
| Platform | Rating | Reviews | Read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 1.6/5 | 129 | November 5, 2026 |
| Apple App Store | 4.8/5 | 1,119 | November 5, 2026 |
| Google Play | 4.7/5 | 38,620 | November 5, 2026 |
| Product Hunt | 4.5/5 | 78 | November 5, 2026 |
Recurring complaints
- Auto-renewals with little warning, charges after cancelling, and a short refund window
- Slow, repetitive or automated support replies
- The AI ignores instructions, says it made changes it did not make, or generates distorted images
- Limited control over layouts and branding, with themes that feel generic
- Layouts that shift or break when exported to PowerPoint or PDF
What users like
- Very fast from a prompt or notes to a finished-looking deck
- Easy to use, including on the mobile app
- Saves hours of formatting work for students, teachers and small teams

What Gamma does
Gamma generates presentations, documents, simple websites and social posts from a prompt, an outline or an imported PDF or PowerPoint file. You edit the result in its own editor and can export to PDF, PPTX, PNG or Google Slides. AI actions consume credits, and the plan you pick mostly decides how many credits you get, how many slides one prompt can produce and which image and video models you can use.
We read Gamma's pricing page, its terms of use and five help-center articles. We did not build decks with it, so this review covers the rules around the product, not the quality of its slides.
Credits are the part Gamma gets right
Many AI tools wipe unused allowance every month. Gamma lets paid credits accumulate to twice your plan's monthly amount, so a quiet month is not wasted. Annual subscribers receive credits month by month with the same cap. Credits bought on top of a plan last a year after you cancel, which is more generous than most.
The free tier is different: 400 credits at signup that never refresh. Think of it as a trial budget, not an ongoing plan. Referrals add 200 credits each, up to a 2,000-credit balance.
The 72-hour decision
Gamma's refund rule is short and strict. You have three days from subscribing to ask support, and only if you have not used more than a set number of credits for your tier. Cancelling inside that window is not enough; you must request the refund. After day three the help center points to the general rule in the terms: fees are non-refundable.
The terms add a wrinkle we would not ignore: they say to cancel at least 30 days before the renewal date. The help center describes plain end-of-period cancellation, so the two documents do not line up. On an annual plan, cancel well ahead of the renewal to be safe.
Switch off training before you upload anything
If you pay for Plus, Pro or Ultra as an individual, your decks can train Gamma's models by default. The fix takes a minute: open Settings from your avatar, go to the Data Controls tab and opt out. Business and Enterprise workspaces are excluded automatically and cannot opt in. For client work or anything confidential, either change the setting on day one or buy a Business seat.
Which plan makes sense
- Occasional users: the free tier's 400 credits are enough to judge the tool.
- Regular solo users: Plus removes the Gamma branding and lifts the cap to 100 slides per prompt.
- Brand-sensitive work: Pro adds custom branding and custom domains.
- Companies: Business is the cheapest way to get training locked off for everyone, but it is billed yearly per seat.
What happens when you stop paying
Cancellation is handled from Settings through Gamma's billing portal, and the help center says your plan stays active to the end of the billing period. After that you fall back to the Free plan and your plan credits reset to 400, so a large rolled-over balance does not follow you down. Credits you bought separately are the exception and stay available for a year.
Downgrades work the same way and take effect at the end of the cycle. Upgrades, by contrast, apply immediately and charge the prorated difference. A promo code only applies to a first paid subscription, not to a later plan change.
Our practical advice: if you are unsure, start on monthly Plus, decide within three days, and only move to an annual plan once you know your monthly credit use.
Also note that Gamma bills per member. Inviting a colleague into a paid workspace adds a seat at the plan rate, and the help center says each additional member who accepts an invite to a Business workspace generates a separate bill. Check the member list before every renewal, especially on annual plans where seats are committed for the year.
FAQ
Can I get a refund from Gamma?
Only within the first three days of subscribing, by contacting support, and only if your credit usage is under the plan's threshold (for example 300 credits on Plus). After three days refunds are not issued except where the law requires.
Do Gamma credits roll over?
On paid plans, yes: unused credits roll over up to double your monthly allowance. The free plan's 400 starting credits do not refresh.
Does Gamma train AI on my presentations?
On individual plans training is on by default, and you can opt out under Settings, Data Controls. Business and Enterprise workspaces are excluded automatically.
What does Gamma cost in US dollars?
Gamma's help center quotes Business at $40 per member per month, billed annually. For Plus, Pro and Ultra we found no published USD list; the pricing page version we read showed euros (Plus from €8 per seat per month billed annually).
What happens to my credits if I cancel?
You move to the Free plan when the paid period ends and plan credits reset to 400. Credits you purchased separately remain for one year after cancellation.
