Our verdict

InVideo AI is cheap to start and generous where it counts for creators: exporting is free and the output license survives cancellation. The rest of the fine print favors the house. Credits reset monthly even on annual plans, credit costs can change without notice, refunds need a completely unused plan, and the Terms let InVideo train its models on your uploads with no toggle to stop it. Use it for faceless content, not for footage you want kept private.

Good fit if you…

  • Faceless YouTube and social videos made from prompts
  • Small teams that edit a lot, since timeline edits cost no credits
  • Creators who want broad commercial rights to finished exports

Skip it if you…

  • You need your uploads kept out of AI training
  • You want predictable value from a fixed credit price
  • You plan to try the plan before deciding on a refund

The fine print, graded

Five questions, graded A (best for you) to E from Invideo's own pages. How grades work.

D

Pricing clarity · Are prices public and free of traps?

Prices are per seat in dollars, but the help centre says plans and prices differ by region, so what you see depends on where you are. On the page we read, the Basic yearly price appears as $4 in one place and $5 in another. Worst of all, the pricing FAQ says InVideo reserves the right to update credit costs at any time, without prior notice, so the value of a plan is not fixed.

C

Cancel & refunds · Can you leave, and get money back?

The Terms say fees are non-refundable, with one exception: a request within 7 days of an initial purchase or renewal, if no credits or premium features were used. The help centre adds that a plan counts as used if anything was generated or downloaded, and that approval is at InVideo's discretion. Plans renew automatically; cancelling keeps the plan active to the end of the cycle.

C

Limits & credits · What is capped, and do credits expire?

Credits reset every month on the subscription day, including on annual plans, and unused credits do not roll over. Downgrading or cancelling sends you to Free and unused paid credits expire. Extra credits expire after a set period or when the plan ends, but the period is not stated. On the plus side, timeline edits and exports cost no credits.

D

Your data · Is your content used to train models?

The Terms and privacy policy both say InVideo may use your User Data to train, fine-tune or otherwise adjust its AI and machine-learning models. There is no settings opt-out: you stop it only by deleting the data or closing your account, and that does not undo earlier training. Avatar facial data and voice profiles are kept until you request deletion or delete the account; other content is deleted within 90 days of a deletion request.

B

Output rights · Can you use what you make commercially?

You keep ownership of your uploads, and InVideo grants a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and commercialize your outputs. That license survives cancellation for outputs you already created and exported. Stock footage stays under its own license with no exclusivity, and the monthly iStock allowance does not roll over.

User reviews · What do paying users report?

Ratings point in opposite directions: Trustpilot is poor at 1.8 from 1,028 reviews, while Capterra (4.5) and the iPhone app (4.5 from about 28K ratings) are favorable. The most repeated complaint is the credit system: credits drain fast on outputs that ignore the prompt or need redoing, and refunds are hard to get from a support desk many describe as an AI loop. The most repeated praise is speed and ease for quick social and explainer videos.

Recurring complaints

  • Credits drain quickly, sometimes with little or no usable video, and paid credits expire or disappear
  • Output ignores the prompt or contains errors, so each fix costs more credits
  • Refunds are refused or partial, and support feels like an automated loop
  • Charges people say they did not expect, and canceling is hard
  • Slow or stalled generation, a clunky editor and app crashes

What users like

  • Easy to use for people with little video experience
  • Turns an idea into a finished video quickly, especially for social media
  • Large template library
  • Voiceover quality is solid

How InVideo charges you

InVideo AI is priced per seat, and each seat comes with a monthly credit allowance. On the pricing page we read, in US dollars, the line-up was Basic at $9 a seat a month (190 credits), Pro at $30 (1,000 credits) and Ultra at $80 (3,000 credits), with yearly billing roughly halving the monthly rate. Pro and Ultra offer larger credit tiers on top.

Credits pay for generation: Agent Two's work, generative models, transcripts and paid stock. The help centre is clear that edits on the timeline and exports are free, which is a genuine advantage if you spend more time refining than generating. The pricing FAQ adds that all models are offered at their original API pricing.

A pricing page that can move under you

Three details make InVideo's pricing less solid than it looks:

  1. Region. The help centre says plans and prices differ by region and the pricing page shows the plans for yours. A US buyer and a European buyer may not see the same offer.
  2. Inconsistency. On the page we read, Basic billed yearly is shown as $4 a seat in the plan cards and $5 a seat in the comparison table.
  3. Credit costs. The FAQ states that InVideo reserves the right to update credit costs at any time, without prior notice. Your plan price stays the same, but what 1,000 credits buy can shrink.

Our advice: screenshot the plan you buy, and recheck the credit cost of your usual model before each big project.

Use it or lose it, and refunds only if unused

Credits reset every month on your subscription day, annual plans included, and unused credits do not roll over. Paying yearly gets you a lower price, not a bigger bank. If you downgrade or cancel, your account drops to Free at the end of the cycle and any unused paid credits expire. Extra credits expire after an unspecified period or when your plan ends, whichever comes first.

Refunds follow the same logic. The Terms allow a refund request within 7 days of a first purchase or renewal, but only if no credits or premium features were used. The help centre goes further: generating or downloading anything in the billing period makes the plan used. Requests go to support@invideo.io and are reviewed at InVideo's discretion; iOS purchases must be refunded through Apple.

Your uploads and InVideo's models

This is the clause to weigh most carefully. Both the Terms and the privacy policy say InVideo may use your User Data to train, fine-tune or otherwise adjust the parameters of its AI and machine-learning models. The privacy policy lists user content, inputs, outputs and designs under its legitimate interests, and avatars count as user content.

There is no switch in settings. The documents say you can stop this use only by deleting the relevant data or closing your account, and that this does not affect anything developed before. Avatar facial data and voice profiles are kept until you request deletion or delete the account. Other user content is deleted within 90 days of a deletion request. A separate written agreement, such as an enterprise contract, can override the training clause.

Output rights: the strong point

Here InVideo is more generous than most. You keep your uploads, and the Terms grant a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and commercialize your outputs. That license survives cancellation for videos you already created and exported. Stock media keeps its own license and is not exclusive to you. US users are bound to individual AAA arbitration under Delaware law, with a 30-day opt-out; the Terms we read were last updated August 12, 2026.

Bottom line: InVideo AI suits creators who generate in volume, export quickly and are comfortable with their material feeding the vendor's models. It is a poor fit for agencies handling client footage or anyone building an avatar of a real person, because the only way to stop training is to delete the data. Buy monthly first, check the credit cost of the models you rely on, and only then lock in the yearly rate.
